In June 2022, the vibrant 'Fabrika' in Tbilisi became the epicenter of innovation and creativity. HackMeOut Tbilisi 2022, the largest international hackathon in the South Caucasus region, brought together 120 participants from eight different countries. Co-organized by Startup Georgia and MeOut Group, this event was a unique convergence of talent, aimed at solving some of the most pressing global challenges.

  • Implementation Period: June 23-26, 2022
  • Target Group: Startup and tech communities (entrepreneurs, coders, UX/UI designers) from V4 member countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary) and EaP member countries

The Hackathon Experience: 24 Hours of Intense Collaboration

Over the course of 24 hours, teams of developers, UX/UI designers, and entrepreneurs worked intensively, focusing on fintech solutions and tackling resource scarcity. HackMeOut Tbilisi 2022 was more than just a competition; it was an opportunity for participants to brainstorm, design, and prototype innovative solutions that could make a real-world impact.

Participants were not only competing; they were becoming part of a broader community of innovators. The event provided an invaluable platform for networking, allowing participants to connect with peers, mentors, and industry leaders, fostering a collaborative environment that extended beyond the hackathon.

The Judging Panel: Industry Experts at the Helm

The hackathon’s judging panel featured some of the most respected names in the industry:

  • Annie Vashakmadze: Head of Donor Relations and International Relations Department at GITA Tech Park.
  • David Kikvidze: Chairman of the Supervisory Board at the Fintech Association of Georgia.
  • Kakha Gelashvili: Co-CEO at Payze.

Winning Teams: Celebrating Innovation and Impact

As the hackathon concluded, three teams were recognized for their outstanding solutions:

SaveOfficer:

A platform designed to optimize personal energy resources.

ChaCha-cha:

An app aimed at reducing food waste by selling soon-to-expire products at discounted prices.

Green:

A technology empowering households to optimize their energy consumption.

Conclusion:

Supported by the International Visegrad Fund, HackMeOut Tbilisi 2022 was not just another hackathon. It was a significant event that underscored the power of international collaboration in addressing global issues. Participants left 'Fabrika' not only with new skills and connections but also with the inspiration to continue innovating in their respective fields.
